A nourishing facial mask that pulls out impurities from the skin.
We got this fun and fresh facial mask from Lauren and Janice Cox, authors of Ecobeauty, our newest fave from the natural beauty bookshelves. This dynamic daughter and mom duo came up with this recipe as a way to feed your skin beta-carotene — a supercharged antioxidant — and purifying clay — a detoxifying and balancing agent to deep cleanse pores. Save a little carrot juice to sip while your mask does its magic for an extra dose of natural beauty!
Here's what you need:
- 1/4 cup fresh carrot juice
- 1/4 cup natural clay powder (preferably white clay)
Here's what you do:
Stir the carrot juice and clay together until smooth. For a thicker mask, add a bit more clay. Spoon the mixture into a clean container with a tight-fitting lid and store it in the refrigerator, where it will for up to 1 week. To use, after cleansing, spread about half of the mixture over your face and neck, avoiding the delicate areas around your eyes and mouth. Leave it on for 20 minutes, then rinse well with warm followed by cool water and pat your skin dry.
