An ooey gooey rejuvenating avocado facial mask made famous by skincare expert Chris Gibson.
Warning: If you whip up a batch of this miracle mixture, be sure to mark it clearly before storing in the frig. It might get eaten! Best-selling author, natural skincare expert and health coach Chris Gibson, shared a funny story with us about this famous moisturizing facial mask. Apparently after Chris made the concoction live on a Cleveland morning show, the show’s host Robin Swoboda made it for herself at home and placed the leftover in her refrigerator. Mistaking it for a guacamole, her family broke it out along with a bag of nacho chips and dug in. Later, she found the half-eaten leftovers along with a few discarded chips and a note that read: “We don’t know where you got this dip but it’s awful and please don’t buy it again!” Oops!
Renowned for their healthy fat super food status, avocados are good for us both inside and out. This facial mask is a favorite among dermatologists and celebrities alike for its rejuvenating and balancing effects.
Here’s what you need:
- 1 and 1/2 to 2 small ripe avocados, mashed up
- 1/4 cup of ground-up oatmeal, use a blender or food processor
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon honey
Here’s what you do:
Mix all ingredients together in a medium-sized bowl, adding more oat powder if necessary to make the mask thick and sticky. Apply to the skin and let set for at least 15 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat the skin dry. May be repeated every couple of days.
