Carrot & Coconut Nourishing Hair Treatment
A nourishing punch of vitamin A and antioxidants found in carrots pair up with the super conditioning and nourishing properties of coconut oil in this hair repair treatment. The fatty acids in coconut also help with dandruff and hair loss.
What you need:
- One peeled carrot, coarsely chopped
- 2 tablespoons virgin coconut oil
What you do:
Place the carrot in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth. Stir in the coconut oil and mix well. Wet hair slightly with a water bottle and apply the mixture to hair from roots to ends. Cover with a shower cap and leave it on for 15 minutes. Rinse, shampoo and condition as usual.
Warm Honey Moisture Surge Hair & Scalp Mask
Honey is a humectant in that draws retains and reserves moisture. Because of its emollient and softening properties, honey is an ideal conditioned for hair and scalp.
What you need:
- 1 tablespoon raw honey
- 2 tablespoons olive or almond oil
What you do:
Mix the honey and oil in a small saucepan and heat on medium low until the honey becomes liquid. Make sure it’s not too hot! Wet hair slightly with a water bottle and use a small paint brush to work the mixture into your scalp and roots. Cover with a shower cap and leave it on for at least 20 minutes. Rinse, shampoo and condition as usual.
Clean Not Green Chlorine Removal Treatment
Baking soda naturally lifts residue that clings to post-pool hair. Use this rinse to neutralize chlorine and deeply cleanse hair.
What you need:
- 1/3 cup basic shampoo
- 4 teaspoons baking soda
What you do:
Mix the shampoo and baking soda together in a small bowl until the baking soda is dissolved and the solution becomes foamy. Wet hair then apply the mixture from root to tip. Lightly scrub scalp and hair for about 30 seconds and rinse thoroughly. Condition and style as usual.
Beach Please Sea Salt Spray
Put away the blow dryer and let your hair dry naturally with this subtly fragranced beachy spritz.
What you need:
- 2 teaspoons fine sea salt
- 3 to 5 drops essential oil (grapefruit, lemon or peppermint are great for summer refreshment!)
What you do:
Mix the salt with 1 cup warm water and the essential oil in spray bottle. Shake well until the salt dissolves. Spray on clean, damp hair. Twist sections of hair to create wave and let your hair dry naturally. Shake the bottle before each use.
