A light and lubricating massage oil.
They don’t call me Sunny the snooping spa hopper for nothing. See, I was hanging out at the spa one day and my supersonic sound zeroed in on a group of massage therapists chatting about the best type of massage oil. Turns out, they all agreed that good ol’ safflower oil was the favorite because it’s nearly colorless, has great “glidability” without being greasy and washes easily out of linens. I tried it for myself and am happy to report that they were oh-so right. See, a little snooping never hurt anyone, right? For a scented safflower power oil, mix in an essential oil (or oils) that match your mood.
Here’s what you need:
- 4 ounces of safflower oil
- 4 to 5 drops of your favorite essential oil
Here’s what you do:
Pour oil into a container with a tight-fitting lid, add the essential oils (try rose or geranium for romance, eucalyptus for colds, citrus for energy, lavender or chamomile for relaxation) and shake gently to mix.
