Located in the heart of the InterContinental Montelucia Resort grounds lies Joya Spa, a breathtaking two-story structure with more than 32,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor plush space adorned in Mediterranean-inspired vibrancy, Moorish architectural accents and Hammam ritual. An interpretation of the Spanish word for jewel, Joya boasts 19 soothing treatment rooms, a hair and nail salon, a boutique brimming with unique items, two relaxation lounges, a rooftop spa pool, and access to the resort pool complete with cabanas and healthful Moroccan-inspired poolside fare. Of the 19 treatment rooms, five are couples suites offering private whirlpools and outdoor showers with breathtaking mountain views.
In addition to Joya’s unbelievable facility, the spa offers guests a completely unique Hammam ritualistic experience with seven Jewels of Discovery. These jewels were designed to prepare guests for their spa treatment and include a Moroccan scrub stone, crystal ball pedestal lit by an overhead representation of the starlight in Granada, Spain and a hot steam followed by a balancing cold deluge just to name a few.
On the menu are Moroccan-inspired skin and body treatments, mineral clay wraps, massages, treatments featuring real gold and diamond dust and Henna tanning and tattooing, all fully customized to meet the needs of every individual guest. The spa also features a 41-piece fitness center overlooking Camelback Mountain and offers a variety of group classes including sunrise yoga, sunset spinning and dance. The salon features internationally-trained top stylist talent and houses nine styling stations, six manicure and five pedicure stations as well as a private courtyard for relaxation or for outdoor manicures or pedicures.
