Sooth your spirit and your skin with this classic oatmeal bath soak.
This one’s a classic! The anti-inflammatory and natural cleansing properties of oatmeal help moisturize and soothe skin while the gentle lactic acids in the milk help lift dead skin cells. Mix them both together along with the time-honored art of taking a bath, and you’ve got the perfect combination for soothed skin and spirit. You’ll love this one (we do)!
Here’s what you need:
- Muslin fabric or bag
- 1/2 cup of oatmeal
- 1/2 cup of powdered milk
- 1 tablespoon of apricot kernel oil (available at health food stores)
Here’s what you do:
Grind the oatmeal in a blender or food processor until fine. Mix together oatmeal and powdered milk. Add apricot oil and mix thoroughly. Place the mixture inside a muslin bag, or wrap and tie in muslin fabric. Throw into the running water of a hot bath tub. When you are in the tub, sponge your body with the bag for extra softening. Tip: A few drops of essential oil of lavender make a great addition to this recipe. Not only does it smell great, it’s a natural sleep enhancer!
