Not only is she the local operating partner of Drybar, the beauty brand that is blowing its way across the country, but Amy Ross is also a former account executive of Estee Lauder (for 16 years!). In addition to running two successful Arizona Drybar blowout salons in Scottsdale and Phoenix, Amy is a loving wife and proud mom to an adorable 7-year-old (who thinks he is 17).
How does she manage to juggle hair dryers, school functions and family time while looking good on the go? It’s all in the bag! Amy took time out from her busy day to give us a look inside her beauty bag. And needless to say, this radiant mama knows a thing or two about beauty!
What are the three beauty products that you never leave home without?
1. Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder in Antigua.
2. Clinique High Impact Mascara.
3. Drybar 100 Proof Treatment Oil for hair.
As the face of fabulous hair in Arizona, what tips do you have for freshening up your hair and makeup on the go?
For a quick hair pick-me-up, especially with the scorching Arizona heat, I mist on Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo for a just-washed look.
For my makeup, I always feel if you completely remove your lipstick and start from scratch with lip liner and lipstick, it gives the face a fresh look. Pat a little powder over the lips and touch up your face as needed while you have it out. Then, re-apply liner and lipstick. If you are really in a bind and don’t have much in your bag, you can always use your lipstick as a pinch of blush to brighten the face.
With a 7-year-old and successful business to run, we assume facials are not on the weekly agenda. What skincare products would you say are the most instrumental in keeping your skin so young and flawless?
Moisturizer and a good exfoliant, especially in the dry desert! We need to help regenerate the skin cells and keep them fresh!
Any beauty tricks that you’ve learned that we can use poolside this summer?
Before heading to the pool wash and condition your hair, but here is the trick, DO NOT wash out the conditioner. Put your hair in a cute bun or put on a fun summer hat and let the conditioner do its magic.
What’s your all-time favorite spa treatment?
The last time I had a facial, which used to be my favorite, she added on a dermaplane. Wow!!! My skin NEVER looked and felt so amazing. It was like a newborn baby, I loved it.
How do you relax?
That is a good question! I would say having a good laugh over dinner with my family and friends are what help me keep me going. Enjoying a great meal no matter where we are is always an ideal way to unwind and relax after a long day. But a good trip to the beach never hurts as well!
